How do I know if I have an STI?Updated a year ago

Some of the common symptoms of an STI are :

  • Pain/burning while passing urine
  • Unusual (colour/smell) discharge from vagina/penis/anus
  • Growth/lumps around the genital area
  • Blisters/sores around the genital area
  • Unusual vaginal bleeding
  • Vaginal pain/bleeding, after sexual intercourse
  • Unusual itching around the genital area
  • Warts around genital area or anus

However, it is important to note that not all STI’s show symptoms but they can lead to health risks if left untreated, therefore it is extremely important to get tested regularly, to get the treatment you may require or simply to put your mind at ease and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
